US Government Seizes $6.3M Trezor Wallet

A US district judge from San Antonio, Texas, 147 $6.3 million held in a Trezor cold wallet -type="URL" data-id="https://Cryptosoftware.co.uk/">Bitcoin confiscated. According to the court filing, the case deals with a gift card scam that began in 2016.

American scammer named Jaymes Allen Clark used his Target credentials to access Target's gift card database and obtained remotely activated gift cards according to the file. Accessing the databases, Clark took screenshots of the gift card account information after detecting the newly activated cards.

Alleged that Clark shared gift card information with partners and then used it to purchase fake accounts, iTunes cards, and "clean" Target cards.

US prosecutors allege that Clark was paid in bitcoin and originally exploited a Mycelium wallet.

US Government Orders to Seize Trezor Wallet After Investigation

In the report notes, It is stated that "Clark had a Trezor wallet with him when he was arrested".

Following the arrest, Clark was detained at the GEO detention facility in San Antonio, Texas, and his wife was contacted. On September 21, 2017, Clark called his wife from GEO. Clark asked his wife if Secret Service Agents had bought a keychain, and she said she could keep the keychain or send it to her friend Matt Baker.

“Clark later told his wife the password for the first key and said he could tell Baker the password as well. Clark's wife then sent the key to Baker. Records of Clark's calls with GEO were subsequently handed over to the officers involved in the case."
